About Us

Our story begins in 2017 as Mixed Up Cakes a small at home bakery making custom cakes for friends and family. It didn't take long for word to spread, and soon became busy making sweets for all sorts of events from corporate events to weddings.

     

 

     

     

      

Then in 2021, an opportunity came across when a beloved local restaurant chain shared that they struggled to find high quality wholesale cookie dough. After finding out that this was a growing need for Washington, D.C. metro area Mixed Up Sweets was born. 

   

       

About the Owner.

 

Meron Alemayehu grew up  baking in her parents' kitchen for friends and family, teaching herself and creating recipes for her loved ones to enjoy. It was those same loved ones who encouraged her to pursue her passion for creating custom baked goods and turn it into a business. They became her first customers, shared the word, and have kept her busy ever since! 

Meron enjoys spending her free time with her loved ones and cheering for all Washington sports teams.

 

   

About Our Boss.

In 2022, we adopted Mr. Kitty Num Nums from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. Today, he serves as our Senior Lead Box Inspector. When he's not begging for treats and mircomanaging Meron, he does as he pleases. Num Nums enjoys tanning and hunting for prey that's not there.
